Andrew M. Freeman, MD, FACC, FACP is a nationally recognized cardiologist and leader in cardiovascular prevention, wellness, and lifestyle medicine. He serves as Director of Clinical Cardiology and Director of Cardiovascular Prevention and Wellness at National Jewish Health in Denver, where he is also a Professor of Medicine. Board-certified in cardiology, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and cardiac CT, Dr. Freeman brings a comprehensive and forward-thinking approach to heart health, with a strong emphasis on prevention, nutrition, and whole-person care.

Dr. Freeman completed his cardiology fellowship at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia after finishing his internal medicine residency at Brown University. He earned his medical degree with research honors from the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and graduated summa cum laude from Cornell University with a degree in biology and biomedical computer science. His academic and clinical training have shaped a career dedicated to improving patient outcomes through both advanced cardiovascular care and proactive lifestyle interventions.

In his role at National Jewish Health, Dr. Freeman leads initiatives focused on clinical cardiology operations, cardiovascular disease prevention, and patient-centered wellness programs. He has been instrumental in developing and overseeing cardiac rehabilitation and continues to advance innovative approaches that integrate nutrition, exercise, and behavioral health into traditional cardiology care. An avid educator, he teaches medical, physician assistant, and pharmacy students and regularly leads community lectures and continuing medical education programs, helping to expand awareness of prevention-focused care.

Dr. Freeman is also a prominent voice in public health and cardiovascular education, frequently featured as an expert in national media outlets including CNN, The Today Show, and other major publications. He regularly contributes insights on topics ranging from heart disease prevention and nutrition to emerging health risks and lifestyle trends. In addition, he is actively involved in professional leadership, holding key roles within the American College of Cardiology at both the state and national levels, including founding chair of the Lifestyle and Nutrition Workgroup and participation in multiple national committees focused on prevention, innovation, and digital health.

Beyond his clinical and academic work, Dr. Freeman is deeply committed to community engagement. He leads a local chapter of the Walk with a Doc program in the Denver area, where he volunteers his time to connect with patients and the public through guided walks and discussions on health and wellness. His work reflects a broader mission to make healthcare more accessible, actionable, and prevention-driven for individuals and communities alike.
